How your documents are read and checked

What happens after you add material: the ten facts the AI looks for, how confident it is, and how you check each one in “Check what we learned”.

When you continue from step 1, the AI reads all of your material together and writes down what it understood. Nothing it reads goes into an email yet. First you check the facts, then you approve statements. This article explains the first half: reading and checking.

What the AI reads

Every file that was read successfully is used, together with the web pages you added and your brief. A file marked Couldn’t read is not used at all, so check the status next to each file before you continue. Where your brief and an older brochure disagree about who you sell to or what you want, the brief is given priority.

The ten facts it looks for

The reading produces a set of core facts about your company. Each one shows the exact words it came from and the name of the file, so you can see where it was found.

FactUsed for
Company name, Website, Based inYour sender identity and the introduction line.
What it’s called, What they do, What they sellHow the offer is described in emails.
Who they sell to, What success looks likeCampaign suggestions and research targets.
Who signs the emails, Sending addressThe signature and the From line.

Alongside these, the reading records proof points, target markets, things your material does not say, and places where your material contradicts itself.

How confident the reading is

Not every fact is written plainly. On the Facts tab of Company profile, each fact carries a label:

  • Stated outright The material says it in so many words.
  • Implied · check this The material strongly suggests it.
  • Read between the lines A reasonable inference that needs your confirmation.

During setup, anything less than certain is marked Our guess, please check, meaning your files hint at it but do not say it outright.

Check each fact

Step 2 of setup, Check what we learned, asks you to decide on every fact before you continue.

  1. Read the fact and the quote underneath it.
  2. Select Correct if it is right as written.
  3. Select Fix to type the Corrected wording, then Save. The fact is marked Your wording.
  4. Select Leave out if it should never be mentioned. A fact left out is never used in outreach.
  5. When the rest are fine, Mark the rest correct saves time.
  6. Select Continue to step 3.

After setup, the same checks appear in Company profile → Facts, with the buttons That’s right, Fix it and Don’t use this. A number on the tab tells you how many facts are waiting to be checked.

What continuing does

When you continue, three things happen in order. The app shows each one as it runs:

  1. Saving your checked facts. They become your company profile. The profile is only ever written from facts you have checked.
  2. Suggesting campaigns for step 4, based on who you sell to and what success looks like.
  3. Preparing statements for step 3, if you do not have any yet.

If one part does not finish, your facts are still saved and the app tells you which part to retry.

When you re-read

If you add or replace material later, use Re-read my material. Your corrections are kept. A fact you confirmed or left out keeps that decision if its value has not changed; if the new reading finds a different value, you are asked again. Re-reading your material does not rewrite your approved statements. Keep your statements up to date explains how statements are refreshed.
